Parallel Texts from Pope Francis and Br. Charles - Divine Mercy

Pope Francis invites us to be: “light little fires in people’s hearts, to be little lamps of the Gospel that bring a bit of love and hope around you”. "This pandemic reminds us, however, that there are no differences or borders between those who suffer. We are all fragile, all equal, and all precious. What is happening shakes us up inside: it is time to remove the inequalities and to remedy the injustice that is undermining the health of all of humanity at its roots! Let's put ourselves in the school of the original Christian community described in the book of the Acts of the Apostles! It had received mercy and was in turn living mercy: 'All the believers lived together and held everything in common; they sold their goods and possessions and shared the proceeds among all according to the needs of each person' (Acts 2:44-45). This is not an ideology, it is Christianity." Brother Charles ‘Love your neighbour, that through this love you can come to love God: the one kind of love does not go without the other: to grow in one is to grow in the other. How does one acquire the love of God? By practicing charity towards our brothers and sisters.’
