Synopsis:

What distinguishes this little book from others on the life of Charles de Foucauld is that it has been written by one of the Little Sisters of Jesus. Little Sister Annie presents this 'universal brother' starting with his own writings - his letters and spiritual notes. The author highlights Charles de Foucauld's radical approach to living the Christian message during the different stages of his life. The story of the passionate adventure of this imitator of Christ leads the reader to rediscover all the beauty and vitality of the Gospel.

Little Sister Annie of Jesus was born in 1928 in Aveyron, France. She entered the Fraternity of the Little Sisters of Jesus in 1948, nine years after its foundation. In 1949 she was asked to help open a fraternity at Ivry in the suburbs of Paris, and in 1952 was involved in the foundation of the Asian fraternities. For 12 years she was Superior-General of the Little Sisters of Jesus. Afterwards she continued, through talks and writing, to make Charles de Foucauld better known, something she also did for Sister Magdeleine of Jesus, the foundress of the Little Sisters of Jesus.
