‘Today at Vespers the holy time of Advent began.

Holy Virgin, St Joseph, my mother and my father, lead me to Jesus!

May I begin this Advent with you! Through God’s infinite grace, as I pray at the foot of the Tabernacle, I share your happiness of being so close to Jesus. I am like you in Nazareth, sharing your humble situation, your poverty, all the exterior details of your life. Obtain for me that I may also share your life of prayer .

May I imitate you as closely as possible. May my soul and yours be one, and may I be totally one with Jesus;

Obtain for me that I may be like you Holy Mary and St Joseph and in this way imitate your Divine Son, not only through being bodily in Nazareth, living a life like yours, but through sharing your love, your contemplation, your forgetfulness of yourselves.

Obtain for me this gift of being like you: my life as your life, my soul as your soul!

In Our Lord Jesus, by Him and for Him. Amen
