Part of our History:The story of Baraka and Kevin from Mwanza,

I would like to share with you two wonderful stories that happened recently in our Community.

A 14 years old boy called Baraka was in the hospital for months because of cardiac and kidney failure as well as tuberculosis. His mother had died four years ago and his father had abandoned him. As he felt so alone with no family left, he asked Little sister Anne Michele who often visited him, to take him with her when he left the hospital.

Finally, it was one of our friends, Peter, who had been very moved by Baraka's story who decided to take him into his own family. His wife, his parents who live with him and his sisters welcomed Baraka as their own child and Baraka, which means 'blessing' experienced the warmth of family love.

A few days later, during the night, Baraka was praying:

"God our Father, welcome me and forgive my father. I forgive him for having left me. Virgin Mary, welcome me. My God, welcome me."

In the morning Peter left him for a few minutes and when he came back, Baraka has gone to his Father.

A few weeks later, Kevin, 8 years old, the son of a worker at the hospital, who has been sick for a long time, told his mother on Christmas eve:

"It is better I go to the hospital. I shall travel tomorrow".
His mother did not understand. During the night he was praying and in the taxi going to the hospital in the morning, he told his mother:
"Mamy, pray, pray with me, pray".
A short time after reaching the hospital, he died in peace. He had finished his journey.

"The greatest in the Kingdom of heaven is the one who becomes like this child" (Mt 18:4)
