Our community in Istanbul, has had as its focus, from its foundation, to build up links with all the Churches and with people of every faith.

To pray for Unity and to work for Unity have given meaning to our presence here as part of a minority Church in this Muslim country and where the official Christian presence is Orthodox. Special ties of friendship with the Orthodox Patriarchate have been part of everyday living.  read more »

Part of our history, Among the Tapirapé Indians

Marcos Xako’iapari, our great friend, the great spiritual leader of the Tapirapé Indians died in March 2006. His people paid him tribute with much ritual singing and dancing asking that his spirit may take the right path and that he may not be afraid in his new life there where he would be.

Part of our History: Life among the Toubou and the Kerboubou Tuareg of Niger

Little sister Ria Christine from Holland lived in Niger for twenty-six years. She lived with the Toubous nomads for eighteen years and then among the Tuareg in Kerboubou for eight years.

Little sister Magdeleine received this house as a Christmas present in 1940, one year after she had founded the Little sisters of Jesus in Touggourt, Algeria. It was a real miracle as at that time she had nowhere to house her little community. Generations of Little sisters have stayed there who consider it to be their ‘family house’.  read more »
