News from Alampundi, India (2009)

As he says himself in the text that follows, Anand has been in India for almost two decades. He has lived at the fraternity of Alampundi for the whole of this time, and during this period he has shared the life of people affected by suffering. But for a long time one particular environment has attracted him in a special way – the caste of the 'Untouchables' who are now referred to as the Dalit community. Joining them and living with them was impossible for a foreigner. It was mainly because of this that Anand asked for Indian citizenship. On the 8th September the Little sisters celebrated 70 years since their foundation by Little sister Magdeleine of Jesus in 1939.

Not only was there a big celebration in Tre Fontane, Rome, but also in all the small Communities all over the world.

News from Warsaw, Poland

Our fraternity (one of three located in Poland) is in a very poor area of Warsaw (the capital), on a street with a bad reputation. The families there are often divided, and the people suffer greatly. For several years we have been the youngest fraternity in our Congregation (in terms of our ages), consisting of students who will soon be finishing their studies. There are usually three or four of us living here, and we welcome young men who are interested in the Fraternity.  read more »
