Among the disaster victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in March 2011

After the earthquake in Japan on March 11th, 2011, and the tsunami that followed, the Bishop of Sendai, one of the dioceses in Japan that was most badly affected, asked (through a priest we knew) if Nozomi, of the fraternity of Wakayama, could free himself and come to his diocese to help. So Nozomi and Ludo travelled more than 1000 kilometres north and joined the teams who were already there serving the disaster victims. Ludo returned to Wakayama after a month, while Nozomi stayed for almost six months.  read more »

Hackney, London

Here in Hackney, we live in a Council flat on the 13th floor of a Tower Block. The East-End of London has traditionally been the first port of call for people coming from every country and the meeting of cultures is a wonderful challenge to build Community.
