With neighbours

Every day as I prayed before the Blessed Sacrament, or on the occasions when we had a celebration of Mass in our little chapel, a deep feeling of certainty would come over me that the life of my neighbours was present with me, taken up in Jesus' great offering, paving the way for the coming of the Kingdom. Don't misunderstand me, what goes on in times of prayer is often a discouragingly poor affair. Often as not I would fall asleep, my shoulders weary from the boxes and cartons I had filled and carried all day at work. Or else a hundred things from the workday would still be dancing in my head, or the disputes of the day, or my problems with another little sister. But when light from the Word of God would break through for me, or something said by one of my sisters, by one of our friends, or at Church, I understood that the Kingdom of God really is among us.
