News from Warsaw, Poland

Our fraternity (one of three located in Poland) is in a very poor area of Warsaw (the capital), on a street with a bad reputation. The families there are often divided, and the people suffer greatly. For several years we have been the youngest fraternity in our Congregation (in terms of our ages), consisting of students who will soon be finishing their studies. There are usually three or four of us living here, and we welcome young men who are interested in the Fraternity.  read more »

A glimpse of my life in Setubal

Setubal is in Portugal on the Atlantic coast south of Lisbon. It was in 1967 that two student brothers, Henrique and Domingo, arrived there. Thanks to the parish priest, they went to a slum area on the side of the hill that overlooks the town. Bonds of friendship were created, and in 1974, when the people of the area organised themselves to build proper homes after the fall of the dictatorship, the fraternity was integrated into it. About 300 families live there now. And that is where Luis and Henrique live; Luis works at the Higher Polytechnic Institute.  read more »
