After the earthquake in Japan on March 11th, 2011, and the tsunami that followed, the Bishop of Sendai, one of the dioceses in Japan that was most badly affected, asked (through a priest we knew) if Nozomi, of the fraternity of Wakayama, could free himself and come to his diocese to help. So Nozomi and Ludo travelled more than 1000 kilometres north and joined the teams who were already there serving the disaster victims.
