My Discovery of Little Sister Magdeleine

Conclusion

As I read and re-read what Little Sister Magdeleine had said and written, through the rhythm of her sentences, she began to acquire a life and a voice.
I began to write, above all with the feeling that I should not try to impose too much order on the subject matter, nor erect barriers that had not existed for her, but rather allow this remarkable life to reveal itself quite spontaneously until, at last, it came to her acceptance of those final ordeals, in which she underwent the suffering of the cross, like a child, in the spirit of Bethlehem.
And when at last I had to write about her death, I found myself mourning her as a friend.
