Prayers to Br Charles

In gratitude for everything!

Your love for Jesus was but a moment’s gift at that October confession those long silent years ago, but it was a raging hunger that only grew stronger as you fell in love, over and over, with your new beloved brother and Lord JESUS.

What did He say to you in those many hours spent at His feet, listening for a whisper and a kiss of peace?

Every word you wrote was inscribed in the ink of longing to share your passion for His Nazareth life. Now little Charles of Jesus you can rest your head upon His breast and listen to that Heart that beats so clearly with your own name.

Can you give me some of your secrets, can you unfold in my heart some fire that still burns in your own?

Can you tell me in your poor words how to be another lover of Him in my own desert, in my dry and barren life that seems to go nowhere?
Pray not for me dear little friend, but pray with me, and teach me to pray with that trust and wild abandon beyond all measure, for with Jesus you sleep and rise in the arms of your Father, happy at last to see the Face of God.

Place me good God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit with this man of many lives, that I too may be transfigured into the communion of the saints.

Prayer to obtain a favour through the intercession of Saint Charles de Foucauld

God Our Father, you called your servant Charles de Foucauld to discover the infinite greatness of your love by contemplating the life of Jesus of Nazareth, your Son, who became flesh, who humbled himself to the point of death, who was raised to life, and who sent the Holy Spirit as his first gift to those who believe. May we find, as we lovingly read the Gospel, and as we adore the Eucharist, a fountain of inexhaustible life in Christ, and a missionary courage and energy which will bind us in a spirit of universal fraternity. Thus we can work together to bring about your plan for the salvation of all people. We ask you in particular to grant, by the intercession of your servant Charles de Foucauld, if this is in conformity with your will, this grace.... for... whom we commend to your fatherly heart. We ask you this through Jesus, your beloved Son, Our Lord.
